Tenzen Lama, renowned for his world-record achievement of climbing 14 mountains in just 92 days, tragically lost his life in an avalanche.
The incident occurred in China's Sissapang mountain, and the confirmation of Tenzen Lama's demise was provided by Mingma Sherpa, the President of Seven Summit Treks.
Tenzen had gone missing on Saturday while in the Sissapangma mountains of Tibet. Regrettably, he was not the sole victim of the avalanche, as a Nepali and an American climber also met their unfortunate fate, their elevation reaching a perilous 7,600 meters.
Tenzen Lama had established himself as an exceptional world-record climber, recently accomplishing the remarkable feat of conquering all 14 mountains on Earth with elevations exceeding 8000 meters in just 92 days.
This achievement, accomplished in partnership with Norwegian mountaineer Christine Harila, had previously been held by Nirmal Purja, known as 'Nims Dai.' Tenzen Lama managed to shatter Purja's record, which took 6 months and 6 days to achieve, by accomplishing it in half the time.
