According to the Metrological Forecasting Division, the current weather in hilly areas of the country is characterized by partly cloudy skies, while the rest of the region is experiencing generally clear conditions.
For Thursday afternoon, meteorologists anticipate generally clear skies in the hilly areas and partly cloudy conditions in the remaining regions. Similarly, on Thursday, the weather is expected to be generally clear with some cloud cover.
Meteorologist Govind Jha has indicated the possibility of light rain occurring at isolated locations in the Bori and Persi hilly areas. Jha further informed that there is a potential for light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in some hilly areas tomorrow afternoon.
In light of these weather forecasts, Jha has advised against cutting rice as there is a chance of rain, recommending that rice be stored indoors instead. Currently, farmers in hilly areas are actively engaged in harvesting and storing rice. In some regions, rice is harvested and brought in on the same day, while in others, it is allowed to dry for up to three days before harvesting.
Meteorologists have stressed the importance of postponing rice harvesting due to the possibility of light rain in the coming days, which could potentially impact the harvested crop. Today's weather, they note, is expected to remain generally clear, though they caution that there may be some partial to normal changes in hilly areas during the afternoon.
