Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation Minister Sudan Kirati announced plans for paragliding from heights exceeding 8,000 meters above Mount Everest during an interactive program at the national conference held on World Tourism Day.
Minister Kirati emphasized the need for policies that attract tourists, stating that regulations for paragliding from above 8,000 meters of Everest are in their final stages and will be implemented soon upon cabinet approval.
He acknowledged that Nepal's tourism sector faces challenges due to laws, existing infrastructure utilization, and the construction of new infrastructure. He urged for systematic and well-thought-out actions to strengthen Nepal's tourism sector.
Minister Kirati revealed the government's decision to acquire a ship, recognizing the importance of transportation in Nepal's tourism industry. He stated, "We have decided to purchase a ship. Affordable travel options will significantly contribute to our tourism industry."
He highlighted the importance of branding Nepal's unique aspects, building universities to produce skilled manpower, and the need for determination and efficient lawmaking to harness Nepal's tourism potential.
Minister Kirati emphasized Nepal's abundance of tourism potential, including its eight mountains exceeding 8,000 meters in height, and called for concerted efforts to develop and implement necessary laws. He concluded that even attracting a small percentage of tourists from neighboring countries would significantly boost Nepal's tourism industry.
