'The era of global warming is over, the era of global boiling has begun,' I begin my speech with the words of the Secretary General of the United Nations. The expression he gave in the last week of July really shocked us and made us serious. The head of the United Nations has asked to take immediate action to reduce the problems caused by climate change. And we have a huge responsibility on our shoulders now to protect a habitable earth for future generations.

You are aware that the effects of climate change are multi-dimensional. Just a few months ago, Canada, Greece, and Italy were ravaged by wildfires, and China's capital, Beijing, received its heaviest rainfall in 140 years. Last July was the hottest month on record which shocked everyone.

Last year's floods in Pakistan caught the world's attention. We have before our eyes the flood in Melamchi River in 2021, the flood in Manang in the same year, and the damage in Kagbeni just a few days ago. This year, there was not enough rain in Terai Madhesh, and planting did not go well. Climate change is having a serious impact on agriculture, due to which we are heading towards a food crisis.

We are holding this conference at a very important and meaningful time. In the next few months, world leaders are gathering in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for the COP 28 conference. Nepal is discussing the agenda that Nepal should take up at the COP 28 conference.

This organization was founded on the initiative of women under their leadership with the aim of working purely in the field of climate change and is also a non-profit non-governmental organization. We are continuously working from the central level to the local level to make policy about the impact of climate change, with your support and cooperation.

I think we should take up the issue of climate change with a lot of priority. However, we should also prepare for that. There are many things we can show the international community in that area. We have succeeded in drawing the attention of rich countries to that agenda, now it is time to move forward with good preparation, that is, it is time to act.

The impact of climate change has started to be seen at the local level, not only that, it has become a big problem. However, at the local level, it is still too late to understand it correctly and take action accordingly. Therefore, it is too late to inform the local level. We are trying to reach the local level and we will reach it, we need your support in this.

Due to global temperature increase, the mountains of Nepal are melting. The mountains that looked white until a decade ago have turned into black rocks. When Nepal's snow melts, it is not only affecting Nepal, it is also affecting the world's water system. We have made a small effort at this, but there is much more to be done. Even though the Everest dialogue has been discussed to draw the world's attention to this issue, it has not been able to move forward.

There is a long list of dire effects of climate change, I have only mentioned a few. Who is most affected by climate change? Certainly, women, economically backward classes, physically challenged and other communities are being affected more. We need to take their pains, stories, and issues to the policy-
making level and the international stage. Climate justice is being talked about, but little has been done. 
When it comes to climate justice, not only human beings, but also nature needs justice today, and everyone who lives on this earth needs justice. And it is we humans who want to take the initiative to give that justice because today's crisis is a problem created by humans and created by us.

Therefore, it is our duty and responsibility to work to reduce the impact of climate change. Moreover, I say, it is binding on us, because the earth itself is in pain today because of our actions. Therefore, we are drawing the attention of the government and concerned agencies to this great campaign. And this serious problem is not something that can be addressed by any organization or individual, we need to take a collective initiative. We must move forward hand in hand, side by side. We firmly believe that all stakeholders must go together, hence the name of our organization is Sath Sathai.

And what I want to emphasize is that we have to push the youth, whose future is tied to this. I would also like to urge the current young generation to learn from past experiences and problems and play a leadership role in handing over a safe earth to the future generation.

Sath Sathai is a non-governmental organization led by women to work in the field of climate change. Established in the year 2021, this organization has succeeded in making a distinct identity in the national and international fields in a short time with your love and support. 

We are constantly moving into this area. We want you to join and contribute to the great campaign to save this earth. We believe, our little efforts will achieve success.
